Oxon Woodturners

News

Our next clubnight will be on the 3rd of February, and will be a hands-on night with the theme of 'spindle techniques'. The competition theme for this month is 'winged bowls'.

We ask those wishing to renew membership for 2026 and who didn't do so in January to bring their membership fee (£40) plus £3 for the clubnight (and don't forget the raffle!)

Non-members and the curious are most welcome to attend for no fee (for up to two hands-on club-nights), it is a great opportunity to learn more about Oxon Woodturners and even have a go on a lathe. All levels are welcome.

We hope to see you there!

About Us

Welcome to the web page of the Oxon Woodturners which is associated to the Association of Woodturners of Great Britain (AWGB).

We established over 30 years ago (in 1991) as a focus for woodturners in and around Oxfordshire with a wide range of experience and ages. Our meetings (as of 2025, the first Tuesday of every month at 7.30pm; doors open at 7:00) - see map on contact page - are informal and consist usually of demonstrations or club hands-on evenings. There is always something for both beginners and established turners; new members are always welcome.

We are delighted that the well-known turner Gary Rance is the Patron of our club. Gary is considered one of the fastest and most accurate production woodturners in the UK and is one of only a few whose income comes solely from woodturning. Gary has been a popular demonstrator at the club, combining infectious enthusiasm with pre-eminent skill, and we look forward to a long and happy collaboration with him.

Please contact one of our committee members for more information on the club. Our constitution is available here.
